Buttercup Studio is an asian-owned, female-led independent jewellery brand founded in Toronto. Known for its distinctive use of playful charms, freshwater pearls and glass beads, Buttercup creates statement jewellery, custom pieces and accessories designed with individuality and inclusivity in mind.
Founded in 2021 by creative director Cindy Khin, Buttercup Studio brings together nostalgia and unexpected details through a contemporary approach to jewellery. Each piece is designed in Toronto with a focus on thoughtful materials, expressive design and pieces that feel personal to the people who wear them.
Before Buttercup Studio officially launched, Drake became the brand’s first customer, commissioning a series of custom pieces in 2021. He has continued to wear and support Buttercup Studio over the years, becoming an important part of the brand’s story, growth and continued success.
Since then, Buttercup Studio has worked with internationally recognized names including Google, lululemon, Soho House and Highsnobiety, alongside Canadian brands including Call It Spring, MilkUP and Dunkaroos. What began as an independent Toronto jewellery project continues to grow through custom design, creative collaborations and a community that has supported Buttercup from the beginning.
